In her childhood, Hiroyo Sato learned the joy of painting, drawing, and artistic crafts at the private classes of Mr Hidekata Kuroda, Vice Chairman of Gen-ten. The group  pursues originality and independence from authoritative artist groups.
As a teenager, she studied the basics of drawing, oil painting, and oil pastel at the private classes of Mr Shizuaki Takahashi, of Issui-kai. The group focuses on realism. 
She has endeavored to develop artistic insights, skills, and her own style by connecting with leading artists and their talent.
Born and based in Tokyo

Public exhibition member of Shuyou-Kai (shuyou meaning the "red colored leaves", the first open group for woman painters in Japan, established in 1918, named by Akiko Yosano, one of the most pioneering and leading female poets in the late feudal years of the country.)

2015: Won Award of the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in the 94th Shuyou-Kai exhibition

2006: Won Holbein Award in the 85th Shuyou-Kai exhibition

2000: Won Holbein Award in the 79th Shuyou-Kai exhibition
